Hey guys! I just took the DAT for the first time today.

GCHEM: 17
OCHEM: 20

Calculations and freaking out over timing is what threw me off for g-chem 🤔 How bad does this look?

Thinking about studying for it and going through that test again makes me cringe :scared:

My undergraduate GPA is a 3.6 in science and overall 3.7

No, your scores and GPA are just fine. You should get interviews.

No, Breh, you'll be fine with those stats.

You should be fine. 17 is normally the cut off and you have scores that are much higher than that other than GC. GPA will also help raise that 17 in the eyes of the committees. Best of luck applying

I wouldn't. It's not like dentist need to know gen chem anyway. Your score and should be good enough to offset the low score

If you are fine going anywhere you get in then don't retake it, you'll be just fine. If you are trying to get into a state school which requires more competitive stats because of the lower tuition, then it wouldn't hurt to retake it. It all depends on where you want to go. Good luck!

I think you should do what your gut tells you to do. I think a 17 for g chem is something possibly to look at? Do they look at the chemistry and biology apart from the total science score?

Personally, I think if you take it again, you are bound to make better than what you got. If not, then that's fine too. Your grade point averages are pretty good but I dont think you should let that outweigh your DAT. Chads videos all the way
