I'm applying to University of Wisconsin-La Crosse for early admission, along with the University of Minnesota. If I don't get in, I will apply to my other schools.

Given my stats, is it worth retaking the GRE? Granted, my GPA in the last ~60 credits is about 3.85-3.9, though I'm not sure they really care about that. La Crosse does combine the best scores of every GRE test you take, so there's that (e.g., if I get a 150 V, 155 Q, 4 W the first time, and a 154 V, 148 Q, 4 W the second time, they combine that as 154V, 155Q, 4 W). Thanks guys.

Have you contacted these schools to ask how the GRE is weighted vs. other things? Some schools care about it more than others. Some just use it as a cutoff (eg if you're at or over 150 in each section and 3.5 writing that's all they care about.) If these particular schools weight it more heavily, and you are confident you could increase your GRE score, and you're willing to take the time to study/shell out the $200 or whatever it costs now, it might help your app some, given that you're slightly under the accepted student averages for GPAs and GREs currently. On the other hand, if these schools don't care as much about GRE scores, it may help your app more to focus on other things- making sure you have stellar recs and essays, trying to get some experience in another setting or two (SNF, rehab hospital, school, home health, etc).

Why not if you have the money? You're GPA is fine, work as an aide to get $$$ and hours. you have enough time in the day and the whole weekend to study for the GRE.
