I currently have a 3.15 cGPA at the University of Nebraska majoring in Biochem. I am wishing to apply to UNMC college of pharmacy which has an average entering gpa of around 3.7, as well as many other schools. Roughly three years ago I got a C in Physiology and an A in the lab. My science gpa is around a 3.22 and would be slightly raised if I could pull of an A in the lecture portion. I will take the PCAT on october 17th this year. Would it be worth it to retake this class while I am also taking PChem and Calc or should I try do as good as I can in these classes and not allow the potential let down in my remaining courses for my degree?

I wouldn't take it again with PChem and Calc... but if you've got a sGPA of 3.22 right now and can swing As on PChem and Calculus you'll look really good.

What's the next semester look like?

I will be graduating this December but I still have to take Anatomy and Accounting to finish off my prereqs.

OK, so theoretically you've got

PChem
Calc
Anatomy
Accounting

5 units for PChem and Calc, 4 for Anatomy and 3 for Accounting? If you're graduating in December that means you've got one term left... into which you're putting PChem, Calc, Anat, and Accting? If I understand this correctly you really ought not fool around with Physio again. Leave that bed the way you made it and concentrate on a 4.0 sem/qtr with those classes and your GPA will thank you profusely, moreso than a C--->A, IMO.

p chem and calc are quite a bit of work in one semester. adding anatomy on top of that would give you not much time outside of school work.

Don't retake it if you don't have to. I am not sure of what the requirements are for the schools you are applying to, but one of the schools I am applying to will not take anything less than a B in anatomy/physiology or organic chemistry. Just double check with your school!

I think your situation has been misunderstood by the other posters.

Correct me if I am wrong, but your plan is to complete PChem/Calc/PCAT in the Fall semester, graduate in December, and take Anatomy/Accounting in the Winter semester.

I would just add the Physiology course to your Winter semester.

I had a couple of friends get accepted to UNMC this year. Based on the grades and test scores they had, I wouldn't retake this course. To be honest, I was pretty surprised that one got in at all with a PCAT that was pretty darn low. I'd just spend your time doing well in current courses and study for the PCAT.

I'm not sure how many applicants UNMC gets every year, but it's not that many. Plus, if you are from Nebraska that will help you out too when they are deciding.

Umm, no.

Scenario:

Pchem, calc, Pcat - Fall

December...graduate

Anatomy/Accounting - Winter

His/her Question: whether or not to add physio (to upgrade the mark), and if so where.

Anatomy/Accounting - Winter

His/her Question: whether or not to add physio (to upgrade the mark), and if so where.

WHILE

Not after.

WHILE

He is asking if he should add Physio to go from a C to a possibly higher grade WHILE taking PChem and Calculus.

W H I L E. Not after. Not in 5 years. During the same semester as PChem & Calc or in other words, while.

Example:

Me: Hey, while you're at the store, can you get a loaf of bread?
Wife: So you want to know if I can get a loaf of bread next time I go to the store?

I guess we'll never know for sure unless OP comes back to clarify.

His statement;

I will be graduating this December but I still have to take Anatomy and Accounting to finish off my prereqs.

CAN mean "I'll be graduating this December but I still have to take Anat and Accting, so next semester/qtr will be PChem, Calc, Anatomy, and Accounting. Should I add Physio to that insane term or just let it be?"

no!

Is English your first language?

No, but that's not the point.

How the hell can you miss the word WHILE in the OP... For crying out loud, it's painfully obvious he's asking if he should take physiology WHILE taking PChem and Calc.

Would it be worth it to retake this class while I am also taking PChem and Calc...
Seriously, how are you missing that WHILE word? Need some help?

"3. during or in the time that. 4. throughout the time that; as long as."

During the same term as PChem and Calc, he would like to know if he should also take Physiology lecture. THen he mentions in his only other post that he graduates in December, leaving him only this term remaining.

you're making a HUGE assumption that OP plans to take courses AFTER graduation. If this was his intention he would've mentioned it, no? You're figuring that since MOST schools have already had their registration deadlines come and go, that OP must be planning to take classes post-graduation. However these are only assumptions, and you can gather what OP wants from the words included in his post... I mean he didn't say...

"Hey dudes on this forum, I'd like to know if after I finish my courses, you think it'd be a good idea to re-take my Physio lecture that I got a C in."

But, no, he said WHILE. At this point I have to conclude your "thread killer" title is standing fast and you're just being obstinate for the sake of it.

I'm not making any assumptions.

****, I hate arguing with stubborn people when they're wrong.

At first you were amusing, now you're simply annoying.

*You* made the assumption that this person his taking those 4 courses together. 2 in the fall, 2 in the winter. Considering a fifth.

Stop using the word while. I didn't miss it. I addressed taking Physio with his Fall courseload, and advised against it.

I *reallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllly* don't care what you have to say about Registrar lol.

I heard you were going to make a visit to the English lab. Looks like you should make another trip.

I did, and you were correct that i.e. when used in a list (i.e. PCAT and GPA) is acceptable. I admit that I was incorrect.

This is an obviously different situation because it is the OP's own words that you're attempting to misconstrue to fit whatever troll purposes you've got in mind. It is not an assumption. OP STATED that s/he was wondering if s/he should re-take Physio WHILE taking PChem and Calc. That is PChem+Calc+ the possibility of Physio... This is not assumptive. You're assuming that OP will have any other term than the current term. You're assuming OP is going to take classes past his/her graduation. This is not implicit nor explicit in his post.

I do not see how you can get anything else out of that sentence besides the fact that s/he wants to know if s/he should take Physiology at the same time, while, concurrently, along with PChem and Calc. He does not make reference to another term at all, and the only other time marker we have to go on is his graduation in December.

Hopefully OP will come back to clarify it for once and for all.

You aren't even sure of it yourself, by the preface, "Correct me if I am wrong" so essentially, you're guessing, or in other words, assuming OP will take this class in his "Winter" semester (Which is called Second Semester at UNL/UNO).

:troll:
