Hi,

I work with a doc and he invited me to his house for a gathering. Do you think I should send him a thank you note? Or should I just thank him verbally or email? He is a great guy and all and I help out as an assistant. Thanks

Thank you notes are always nice. It lets the person know that you really appreciated what they did for you. Verbal appreciation is good too, but it doesn't give the impression that you thought about what you wanted to say like a note does.

Plus, if you write a good note and you're looking to get a recommendation from them later on, it could work to your advantage. Builds up the relationship even more...
