Hello INTERWEB of past, present and future pharmacists! 😛

I am interested in how the application process works in terms of not being finished with prereq coursework.

I have currently graduated from undergrad and have a BA. Because of my major, I have not completely my prereqs. But I also have a minor in biology, unfortunately 2 of those courses I received a "C-" which is usually not accepted....well EVER. 🙁 So in total, I have about 6 courses to take/retake. Unfortunately, I am trying to take classes at community colleges (which are facing major budget cuts = gotta fight for my right...to take classes!)

So, hypothetically, should I be able to finish at least 4 courses by the end of fall semester of this year...but I still had 2 courses left...should I still apply? 👍?👎?

ALSO, in terms of courses...I need to take: Anatomy, Physio, Physics, Biochem,
Mol. Bio, last half of Ochem (YIKES, when I type that out it seems like A LOT)...which ones are a MUST have for applications (if there are any)..and which one's are a...'you can take that class after you apply cause schools don't care that much'.

Thanks in advance! I would appreciate all and any advice!

You just have to complete (with the minimum grade requirement, usually a C) all of the prerequisite courses before matriculation. If you complete those four courses in the fall and then the last two in the spring or summer, then you'll be good to go for matriculation for the next school year. Call the schools you are applying to if you have any questions about this. Many people apply while still finishing up prerequisite courses. Good luck!

Thanks PharmD for Me and pharmB for the feedback! I was starting to freak out...only a little haha Thanks again! 🙂
