Should I take Cal II right after cal I?

Calc II builds on Calc I. If you have a great memory it doesn't matter. If you don't, it may be harder to take Calc II a semester from now. You'll spend the first half of the class reviewing old concepts you forgot.

I'd get calc 2 out of the way while calc 1 is still fresh on your mind. It does build on calc 1. I haven't taken stats in college. I did AP, and it was pretty easy (compared to calc 2), so I wouldn't worry about that at all.

k thanks everyone 😀

I took calc II right after i took Calc I. And i did much better in Calc II. I think it was because i learned how to use the math well so cal II did not seem so difficult. I think you should take rigth after since you will not forget as much.

It seems prudent to follow through with Calc II after I. As far as transcripts goes, it makes no difference at all.

I took Calc I in Fall of 2000. I took Calc II in Spring of 2002. I forgot a lot of stuff and the first four weeks were really nerve racking and gave me a lot of headaches. I ended up doing well, though. I don't recommend waiting, take calc II.

random question, but curious... do you know any school's that require calc II?

kungpow as far as I know there are a few schools that require calculus, but not all of them. I was just talking to my algebra instructor who seems to think I have to take math through calc to go to med school. I will definitely be calling some of the schools to find out if I need to do so!! actually I had printed out some of the information for schools that I want to apply to and most of them don't even have a math requirement, all you have to do is complete the requirement for your degree and for the med schools you choose to apply to. just check each schools website to see what the math requirement is and go from there. hope this helped some!

When I took CalcII it was because my PA program required it. But in any event, I would definitely take it right after CalcI.

hey sis... know there are schools that require calc I... was wondering if anyone heard of joint that wanted calc II as well, haven't heard of anywhere myself.

from what i remember a lot of schools that I applied to required 1 year of math, which would included calc I and II. I don't think that just calc I alone satisfies the year requirement. i only took calc II however and bypassed calc I and that was my only math class. I guess doing that requires the year requirement since I was accepted

oh ok kungpow, I just reread your post. sorry I was thinking I and II. thanks for the correction. these are the kind of mistakes I don't want to make on the verbal! :scared:

Take Calc 2 first. Stats is a whole other ballgame. I took stats after calc 1 and 2, and after a semester of probabilities and two-tailed tests, I couldn't integrate a trig function if my life depended on it. 🙂
