To give some important context to this question, I am in my second to last semester at my community college and nearing the end of journey to my Associate's degree. When I first began taking classes at community, I had no idea where I was headed, and only just recently figured out what I wanted to do with my life. I am a biology major and want to be a cardiac surgeon. I have been prompting myself to take the necessary steps to succeed by recently landing a job in an emergency room.
With all of that said, my question persists. Should I take premed at my community college? I do not have any of the prerequisites required to do so, but was wondering if it would be good to stay for another two (or however many years it takes) years to save money, as I know that community colleges are rather inexpensive compared to 4-years. Is it possible to knock out my 4-year credits by replacing them with premed courses? If so, then it'd probably be in my interest to simply move onto to the 4-year premed program.
Any and all input will be greatly appreciated, thanks!
