should I take this promotion?

So I work right now as a medical scribe in the Emergency Department 3 days per week and then two days per week in a Ortho clinic. I just got offered to be promoted to the training manager for the emergency department but this would require stopping my Ortho clinic days. I put on my med school app that I was projected to continue the Ortho clinic through next year. Being a manager would be a nice pay bump but would med schools look down upon this because I am losing some diversity in my activities?

Imo no, plus it gives you extra leadership.

I don't think any adcom looked down on applicants because they chose greed over power, or conversely. You don't get bonus points for refusing to get paid more, but I don't know your situation with your app if you need the clinic experience.

The promotion gives you more money and more opportunities for leadership. Forget diversity of experiences, I'd worry about your judgment if you turned it down! 😂

Definitely take the promotion! Being selected for a leadership position is always a plus.
