what if some of my weaknesses include a physically disabililty of one the senses (in this case a visual disability) that might prevent me from being a potential stellar candidate for Rx school? Should I tell them to justify my not so great GPA of about 3.00 or should I not tell them because they think I will not be able to handle the rigor that is Rx school? This disability does not prevent me from being a great pharmacist however although it might slow me down a bit but wont prevent me from providing care to the pt.

tough question. i would say find another weakness lol like u sleep late or something. as long as u can see and be able to read a pill u r fine. but im not sure how bad ur visions is bc u dont want to lose ur license when u do become a pharmacist.

i agree....if you use your vision as a reason for having such a low gpa...they might wonder why you never did anything to fix this problem when you noticed your grades were low. For example, they do have resources for individuals with vision problems. At the junior college I work at now, we have reserved front seating, larger font size notes and textbooks available, etc.

if you couldn't see well enough to maintain a competitive gpa, they might be afraid your vision will effect your career as a pharmacist. They will ask you, well how are you going to compensate for your vision problems when you are a pharmacist. You will answer by saying glasses, etc or whatever...and they might ask...why did you not do this in school?

id just be careful because eye sight is something important for a career in pharmacy! You don't want them to reject you because of "something else" even though it's really because they are reluctant due to your bad vision.

hope this helps a little

well, if they did that, they clearly don't want someone with bad vision.

i think its irresponsible withholding such information.

if you do make it to being a pharmacist, i just hope you don't kill someone when you mistake hydroxyzine with hydralazine

i never understand why they make some drugs almost the same name and even same look like nexium and a version of lotrel i believe are both purple with black stripes.

that would be awful!

but as ive said this disability will not prevent me from being a great pharmacist....however it may slow me down a bit at a very busy pharmacy but the important thing is that it wont allow me to take 18 units of credits and be able to get As. I can only do so much with this disability but I can only maintain my GPA at a lower level. It's mostly due to a strain of the eye but I won't go into great detail of this flaw. and no this is not something everyone has and no this is not something that can be corrrected.

apparently ,the first thing everyone think of when they hear visual disability is the inability to recognize drug names but this is not the case for me!
