Should I try and shadow before I submit my app?

I would really like to do some more shadowing before I submit my primary in June, but I was wondering if it would look like I was just rushing to get in more shadowing hours... I guess my question is would it look bad to the adcoms if I did more shadowing, or do you think it doesn't really matter? I only have 8 hours right now.

Definitely shadow! I did all of my shadowing in May, and turned in my app June 5th. No one questioned it in any of my interviews.

What would be better: getting the hours before you apply or not getting the hours at all?
