While submitting my AMCAS, I had listed that I planned on shadowing a surgeon in my area before matriculation for a couple of days. I made sure to mention that at the time of submitting my application, these were hours that were planned and had not yet been completed. We had planned this shadowing for several months ahead of time, however due to COVID our shadowing dates kept being postponed. Eventually, the physician left the practice and moved to a different state, however they connected me with a different physician within the same practice to complete my shadowing later this year. My question is should I update schools on this change in which physician I ended up working with, and if so, when would be a good time to do so. I do not think this change is something that will greatly impact my chances of being accepted, however I just want to be completely honest with my application and am simply seeking out the best way to handle this situation moving forward. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!
