Hey all, so my application is complete, but I'm taking the mcat on June 16th. Based on practice test scores, I should be able to score between a 504-512. Will it be an advantage or disadvantage to submit my application now with a pending MCAT score, should I wait?

I'd submit your application to one throw away school so that it gets verified and submit it to the rest on July 16th when you add your score report.

504-512 is a large range. Is this what your practice tests were or how did you determine this average

Nextstep in chronological order: 501 504 509 505
AAMC FL 2: 504

Still a few weeks left so we will see if I can improve.

When I was taking the mcat, the best indication was averaging the last 3 weeks of studyings AAMC practice tests. I think I ended up taking all 7 or whatever they had and I took 4 the last 3 weeks and the average came out to 1 point off. That's what I read on here and it was accurate for everyone that posted

This is personally what I'm doing. Seems to be the consensus from a bunch of stuff I've read on here. I think doing it this way will help you, but ultimately if you wait until July 16th to actually submit I don't think you would be hurt too much, it's still relatively early in the cycle especially for DO schools.

It's OK to submit to one school and get the verification process going. SDNers are also to be reminded that apps are not processed by schools until thier complete...meaning they have your MCAT score.

Transcript verification takes a looong time the later in the cycle you apply. So yes, get your app submitted if you wanna save some time (which you do). And as Goro said, I can't think of any schools that would just throw your app out. Even if it somehow gets autoscreened due to some random glitch, you can still send an update letter or something of that nature when your score is in.
