Hello,
I am a current sophomore and will be transferring to another university for the Spring semester and currently am not doing well at all in Physics 1 Mechanics- but my current school does not offer Physics 1 lab so either way I would end up retaking Physics 1 at my new university with the lab course. Should I risk getting the bad grade in physics this semester? Or take a W on my transcript? And would it make a large difference on my chances of getting into med school?

Please help!

Thank you very much!

Depends on what the "bad" grade is. If it is below a C, go ahead and withdraw and retake it at your new school next year. If it is going to be around a C or above, then you should probably stay with it. One C will not kill your chances at medical school, but multiple will. Just my opinion, but I believe a W is worse than a C.
