Hi,

I was recently waitlisted at Thomas JEfferson DPT program. The Admissions reached out to invite me to the campus 2 weeks ago but did not give a date as of yet. Just got an email stating they already offered admission to three people off the waitlist. I called and was told I would get some dates I could come in a couple of days.

Should I be worried that I will not get a spot or they will fill up. Or if I will even get a date to come visit? I really want to go there! :/

I don't really know how we can answer this question for you. If you contacted the school and they told you to wait to hear, that is really all you can do. Waitlist movement is starting to slow down at this point but there is still some at plenty of schools so if you are up there on the waitlist you still have a chance. But we can't really see the future any better than you can.

I know it is starting to slow down that's why I was a bit worried especially since I was told I would be given dates and then nothing happened and I don't know where I am on the list but I will wait it out and if nothing happens just apply again.

Will they tell you where you are on the list?

Will they tell you where you are on the list?

It changes depending on the updates they get from people on the list so I guess that means one day I am one place and the next I could be lower depending on another persons update

How could you become lower down on a waitlist? That doesn't really make sense.

  • Should you be worried? Yes, you are on the waiting list, there are no guarantees for you.
  • Should you go to the tour? Yes, you are on the waiting list, everything you do that shows interest can only help.
If your school accepted students early relative to other programs, than I would expect more shuffling of the Waitlist. Right now, if a student paid the deposit for your school, and later got accepted into another school, they don't have any incentive to reject the offer from the first school. So they stay on multiple lists until they finally sack up and decide to make moves.

It's ok to be worried, just make sure you are also patient.
