Hello guys, I posted this in Ortho but also decided to try the General Thread, since its more active I guess and just wanted to muster up some thoughts..
Basically, one week ago today I dislocated my right shoulder during a volleyball serve, then it went back in a few mins later as a friend helped put it back in. Now, I just got back from the doctor who as an orthopedic, had X-rays taken, and recommended an MRI scan to check and see if a "Torn Labrum" is present or what not.
I can easily move my hand and what not, but if I pull my right hand back a little there is a slight pain/sore feeling at the sight, just a nib.
I am considering Ortho in the future as I very much enjoy the field as well, so I wanted to know if any residents here are in Ortho maybe and can provide some insight as to what this is? It would be a good learning experience.
Anyone have any thoughts on this? My main concern is when can I resume exercise/sports, and he said don't do anything until we get more answers, but I am thinking an MRI is unnecessary at this point but I could be wrong..anyone know anything here? I'm also having the X-rays sent to my main doctor who is a D.O. as he wants to see the results too..
