You can’t sign out cases from other states without a license in that state. We had cases from other states and I had to get a license.

Yes. As an aside, that is a big reason you see so many labcorp and Quest folks, particularly derm path, with a slew of licenses.

Slightly more nuanced answer: If you are asking whether or not you can do PC interpretation of Urovysion where the TC was performed at a reference lab in another state, the answer is generally yes as long as you are licensed in the state where the specimen was collected. In this situation, if you are only doing PC doesn't really matter where the TC lab is. Most states follow this principle that licensure follows the site of specimen collection, but of course it is state specific and there are exceptions. These questions are becoming even more complex with digital pathology.

We did Urovysion PC for a while many years ago, but ultimately decided it wasn't worth our time. You need mega volume to really make it worthwhile and urologists who use it frequently.
