Silva vs. Okami

Does anybody think that Okami has a snowball's chance in hell against Silva tonight? The oddsmakers sure don't!

no one stands a chance against silva unless gsp moves up or jon jones moves down.

Okami didn't even look like HE thought he had a chance. He had this whole "let's get it over with" look on his face every time they showed him on camera before the fight.

(Also, Lakers - eww!)

I don't know if gsp could handle him at 185 or not... I wouldn't mind seeing Jon Jones try... but that'd be a tough cut. Honestly, I'd be happy if either fight were to happen.

I didn't watch it (can't wait until I can justify the money) at home, and couldn't go out with the kiddos, so I just followed play by play online. Sounded like it wasn't much of a fight... almost like Silva was just feeling him out for a little while, then decided to take him out. That guy is scary.

Agreed

That fight would never take place at 185. Silva is comfortable at 205 and would be an immediate favorite to win the belt should he ever make the jump to light heavyweight.

I would thoroughly enjoy watching that fight. I'm a big GSP fan, and he needs somebody new to fight!

Honestly, GSP is probably the most boring fighter in MMA...but hes exactly the kind of guy who could beat anyone. Hes the MMA version of Floyd in regards to fighting style. Perfect defense, owns the scoreboard, and almost never knocks anybody out. He fights like a wrestler would going for the points and forgetting about a knockout.

Check that Rashad Evans is the most boring fighter. I have seen Bones Jones in real life. I was at the fight when he destroyed shogun. Jones is superhuman looks like he is 235-240 Cheick Kongo build. But agile and lightning fast. He would destroy Silva.

GSP has no shot against Silva. The fight that needs to happen is Silva vs. Jones or whoever is champ at 205. There's nothing left for Silva at middleweight.

Sonnen. Silva was put on his back and got rocked. He was lucky to pull off a triangle choke with minutes left in the fight. If that hadn't happened Sonnen would have won.

Silva vs. Sonnen 2 is what needs to happen.

I didn't get to see Silva vs. Sonnen, either... being broke sucks! 😀 I was wondering if Silva really looked like Silva, or if he was hurt/having a "bad" night. Sounds like he might have had some injuries for that fight.

I agree that he seems to walk through everybody at 185... I don't know if he'd be an immediate favorite to win the belt at 205, though. He hasn't really fought anybody at 205, has he? Jones is pretty solid, and he's fought some tougher guys - obviously. With that said, I think that he has pretty much run through everybody at 185. Why not go back up to 205 and see if he can Randy Couture it?

Silva vs. Sonnen 2, then Silva at 205... I'll call Dana and make it happen.

Don't know if the Silva Sonnen fight will happen. Sonnen has some big legal issues as well as steroid issues he has to contend with. I would like to see Brock Lesner vs allistair Overeem.

I'd settle for watching GSP and Dan Hardy again.... that was crazy. It's a bit sad that Hardy's gone downhill since then.

No, not at all! I thought that was one of the crazier fights I'd ever watched. He got seriously destroyed, but I was super impressed by the fact that he lasted through the whole thing. Almost got his arm ripped off and didn't back down for a second. That's what I'm referring to as "crazy" and I wouldn't mind watching another fight that was that exciting again. Just watching video of that armbar again makes me cringe!

My favorite fight before that one was Buentello and the super tall Dutch kid...... Buentello looked like somebody's uncle Ralph taking on Goliath, and he lost, yeah, but there was a WICKED punch in there that has been immortalized as one of my favorite moments out of any fight. See: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34izph6VFK8

He's not fighting at all anymore, which is understandable.

I have a thing for underdogs.
