Hi all - I was wondering what everyone is doing to prepare for starting an MPH program in the fall. I didn't take any math or science courses in college and am considering doing an online course in basic statistics. I'm also brushing up on Stata (I have only minimal working knowledge from my job). I'm curious to hear any other ideas!

SAS is big in public health and you will often see postings for epi/biostats jobs requiring you to know SAS. R is also up there in those postings and it is free although it is arguably harder to learn. Less common industry related jobs might require you to know Python

I took grad courses in Berkeley as an undergrad and they focused on SAS and a little bit of STATA. I would suggest learning SAS for a head start or learn R in case your program doesn't focus on it.
