Hey people! For those who have taken the DAT already, or even studying for it, what do you think about skipping top, front, end and saving it for last? I am having a really difficult time with it and would rather skip to the other stuff that i'm better at. What do you think?

Just realize that when you are skipping, your are using up 1-2 sec each question. So is 10-20 seconds important for you? If you've been finishing up with extra time, this shouldn't be a problem. Doing easier question does boost up your confidence. Do what you think is best for you.

I always skip FTE and save it for last. I think it requires the most thought, spend the most time on it. It worked for me. good luck

I also skipped around on the PAT section of the exam. I did the first 15 questions (fitting the shapes through the hole) then I skipped the front/side/end and went on to the angle ranking, hole punching, and cube counting. Then I did all the easy folding shapes and went back to the front/side/end.

This way I had maximum time for the hardest sections (for me) and could spend longer on the most challenging figures. It worked for me, I finished right on time, but I did have to rush on the last few questions.

Wow! Thanks you guys! I kinda felt silly thinking about skipping the TFE but now im happy to know that there are others doing it! Thanks! Did anyone else try this?

i'll take the counterpoint and warn you that the computer at my testing center was very slow moving from question to question. going in with the plan to skip around a lot can eat up a decent chunk of time if you get a prometric center like mine...

just food for thought, best of luck :luck:
