I would appreciate anyone's advice or any additional information on these schools as I am truly stuck between these 3. I think they all have great pros. My only con for the private schools is the cost but do you think it is worth taking out roughly $400,000 in loans to attend? And if so is there a clear advantage of choosing SKMC over the others (I am from the southeast but open to move anywhere). Would the resources and networking opportunities be worth it to attend SKMC or WF? Or is UTHSC just as prestigious or so long standing that I could still match into a competitive specialty attending there (and assumably performing well haha). Also, they are all P/F pre-clinical with inside ranking.

All these schools kill it for competitive matching so I wouldn't w worry to much. SKMC is special if you want ophtho tho. Honestly, wait for your financial aid packages before cutting anyone off

Went to Wake, loved it, and matched competitively, but there’s no objective reason to choose Wake or Jefferson over UTHSC unless you for sure want ophtho, like the above poster said.

You can’t go wrong with any of these schools. Objectively, UTHSC seems like your best bet. With a competitive match rate, high rank, and lower COA — that would be my pick. Regardless, congrats on a successful cycle!!

Would you say SKMC because of their extensive alumni network and competitive residency match data? Or another reason?
Their match data, students seem relaxed, they seem to be generous with finaid and the location seems ideal in terms of keeping your choices open for rotations, residency etc. But I don’t know much about the Southeast. If you don’t get money though, the cheaper option wins.

Got it. Thank you for your advice!
