Hello all,

Quick neurotic concern here. I went to CC for 2 years and during that time had a 4.0 GPA. I took all of my science prereqs at that time besides Biochem. I tranferred to university and got 3.3 my first semester there (let the college scene get the better of me and had way too much fun). However, I graduated from university with a Junior-Senior GPA of 3.71. The only "Upper level science" I took there was a 3 credit Biochemistry class which I got an A in; otherwise, most of my classes fell under a "Health Sciences" designation as my major was Medical Laboratory Science. Is the .7 drop in GPA during that first semester significant even though I ended with a 3.71 Junior-Senior GPA? If so, should I take an upper level science such as Molecular or Cellular Biology to show I can succeed in an upper science class? Or just really focus on my MCAT?

Yes and yes. Hiccups happen. How do you let the school knows you are still competent? Take upper level and hard courses to show them you got it.

Quit fussing. It's not a problem.
