So in 2004 I started colege pre-vet...that's all I ever wanted to do...and still have a passion for it. However; after becoming a mother quite unexpectedly I dropped out and started a 2 year business college (geez what a loser, right?lol) While I'm just finishing an associates in business admin (something I don't even know how I started) I got a job working in the pharmacy at Walgreens...and I found that I kind of like it!

I guess I just need some info....

I have no educational background as far as pharmaceuticals go except that I will be certified after my classes in Febrauary as a Tech...I would have to start from scratch after I finish my associates in BA and I will be 22 when I would start back up at a 4 year school . Is that too old to start studying to become a pharmacist?

After taking the required courses as an undergraduate, whats next? Is Purdue's pharmaceutical department a good one?

Oh...and would finishing my bachelors in Business Administration be benificial as a pharmacist or a waste of time?

No that is not too old. Pharmacy students ages range from 19-50s. You are never too old to go after your dreams!

It might help to take your undergraduate classes at the pharmacy school you want to attend. Several schools are more likely to accept people who did their undergrad work at their school. As for finishing your business degree, why not? With it, maybe you could get a better job while you're doing undergrad work. Or you could finish it and take a few pharmacy pre-reqs at the same time. Good luck!

Also, there were a few people at my last interview who had 2 or 3 kids. I don't have any, but I'll be 27 in a couple weeks, so don't worry at all about it being too late.

Definitely not to old. Purdue is a great school from what I hear. This is the page about purdue on pharmcas http://www.pharmcas.org/collegesschools/schoolPurduepage.htm I think, but if not check out pharmcas.com and look at the school directory. The only thing I noticed they have as a pre-req that most schools don't is Calc 2. I am interested in nuclear pharmacy and a nuclear pharmacist told me purdue has a nuclear residency so thats cool. Business can actually come in handy with pharmacy so if you basically done go ahead and finish but you need to also get all your pre-reqs for the school of your choice done as well. Check if purdue requires an undergrad degree or not. Being a tech is great background schools love to see you worked in the field, maybe even become certified.Good luck🙂
