Dear all,
I'm currently debating between the 42.5 credit SM program (epi) in Harvard and MSPH (global disease control and prevention in international health) in JHU. My future goal after graduation is to work in the infectious disease control or go on to med school.
Harvard:
👍 Great name, great city, strong emphasis on epi methodology, also have a certificate on infectious disease, great alumni network
:thumb down not much trainings on practical side of public health, and i have already got a MS degree in biochem
JHU:
👍 Great school reputation, more well-rounded training on both basic and practical skill sets, have options for student to transfer to MPH program(not sure how that works exactly)
:thumb down city, not much social life (i suppose)
Also, harvard is one year program and jHU is two years.
Is there anyone out there also facing the same decision issue?? (high five)
Any comment is appreciated.
