Are there any lists as to what schools offer a SMP and which specifically have a bridge that allow consideration or guaranteed interview for DO schools? How does one apply for these programs, what are average stats and when does one apply for these programs. Also are these programs online or in person? Thanks for the help. I looked into a few but didn't see too much concrete detail.

I would avoid anything that's online, unless you're in the military and overseas.

Offhand, the following have SMPs....most have some type of guaranteed interview, I think LECOM is one with a guaranteed accept.

LECOM
VCOM
Touro-NY
Western
TUNCOM
KCU
Nova

I strongly suggest that you go to the school's websites.

Would a SMP be better than a school affiliated post bacc? Also so either of these count toward the undergraduate cgpa and sgpa?

Goro can i also get your opinion on delaying graduation and taking more classes so that they factor into you undergraduate gpa and sgpa. Good idea/ bad idea and what does it look like to admissions committee.

UNTHSC has an SMP that with ties to TCOM.

Having been at student at the SMP at UNTHSC, TCOM offers no guarantees for interview spots. However, history shows that a large number of students (30-50) usually matriculate into TCOM from the SMP. I would consider this "preference" but not direct "linkage."

Whoa, didn't they have guaranteed interviews for graduates, but not guaranteed admission? I swear I read that in the past unless I am mistaken.

Negativo. Mr. Kennedy, the director of admissions at TCOM, made it clear that there's no set number or guarantee. There is a heavy preference, considering almost 1/4 of the TCOM class is comprised of MedSci students. Also, they show a lot more preference when you're currently enrolled in the program (it's an unspoken rule). After you graduate, they don't show as much interest.

TUNCOM will have guaranteed interview from this year for SMP students for both PA and DO as long as you pass the classes.

The day I took my MCAT this girl who was also taking it with me said she only needed to get over a 500 to get a guaranteed interview at PCOM-GA since she was in their biomedical science program. You might want to contact their admissions and find out if that is true.

I have yet to hear of a medical school offering post-bac classes. So just because you took UG classes at, say, Drexel U, it doesn't mean that this registers in the same way as you doing the SMP at Drexel School of Medicine, because the latter program is taught by faculty in the med school. Hence, the SNP >>>>> the post-bac at the UG school.

It's a pre-med delusion that Adcoms want you to finish your UG schooling in four years. One should always apply with the best possible app, no matter how long it takes.

Would it make sense to apply to these programs if you're also applying to DO and MD? Like how would DO and MD adcoms compare someone who went to an MD SMP versus a DO SMP?

What we look for is success in SMPs. Period. An SMP is an SMP.

Or, at the minimum, at my school, we don't ding people for going for an SMP at, say, Drexel or Gtown, nor do we give bonus points for people who get their SMP at Nova or Touro-NY. It's never, ever been raised as an issue at our Adcom meetings.

Touro CA is one of them w linkage. Dont recommend the school but still beat Caribean

As an FYI, only a few schools that I'm aware of have a guaranteed admission for SMP takers if they perform above a certain level. LECOM might be one of them.

LECOM is very unique. They have a post bacc ( essentially a SMP) and I have to get a 3.0 in the program with no Fs. The program is all of medical school with the exception of anatomy lab and OMT.
