Hi everyone,
I am trying to decide if I should apply to school immediately, or consider completing a SMP?

A little bit about me:

Male URM; Major: Public Health B.S.
  • 3.4 cGPA, 3.13 sGPA - strong upward trend; last two years sGPA ~3.4, 3.7
  • 510
  • Clinical Experience: Scribing/shadowing/logistical support in hospital: 1500+ hours
  • Research: 2 years full-time (including independent project & poster presentations); currently in pretty prestigious fellowship (full bright level) - name not given for anonymity :)
  • Non-clinical volunteering: Here and there.
  • Other extracurricular activities: Worked nearly full-time through college
Thanks in advance for the help!

If you are fine with DO then apply, if you would like to go for MD take a gap year and do a post-bacc/SMP.

What community do you represent? And please don't say "Brooklyn"
Hello Goro,

I am first-generation Mexican-American; that community has shaped much of my ambitions regarding medicine.
