I applied to MD programs in the previous cycle with 512 MCAT and 3.65 GPA but didn't have any luck. I am now accepted to Georgetown's SMP but was told that the program may risk bringing my GPA down. Would the SMP help my application in reapplying?

I would just retake the MCAT. You're within striking distance.

what exactly was holding you back this cycle? Did you apply too top heavy?

You have very little to gain from an SMP or mcat retake. I would focusing on other weak areas if your app and reapplying broadly. Your stats are not the issue

Apply more broadly and I don't think your GPA is a big issue

Something is wrong with your ECs, PS, LOR, school list or submission time if you didn't get accepted with your stats
