I started my TPR online course yesterday, and I feel like I'm at a crossroad. So far I've been following a modified SN2ed schedule with TPR/TPRH books, which has been challenging but doable. However, I wonder if since I'm enrolled in a class if it would be more advantageous to follow the course syllabus/homework schedule since I would be able to read a chapter, watch the lecture, and do associated workbook problems all around the same time frame. Does anyone have any input on this?

Just fyi, the course syllabus says to read the associated chapter(s) before lecture, and then do all the science workbooks problems/passages soon thereafter. There are only 4 lectures a week, so I feel like that gives me enough time to do so. It seems like the biggest differences would be not splitting the passages into thirds, and there probably won't be enough time for a reread of all the chapters. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

What modified SN2ed schedule are you looking at? I enrolled in the TPR class and after the 3 months were up, I realized I didn't learn jack. So I ended up rescheduling my MCAT and going about it using the SN2ed method but it gets a bit confusing to use the workbook and use the SN2ed schedule.

Here's what I do and I think it is helping me really nail the material. I read the whole chapter and while I am reading the chapter, I make notes in question form. For my first physics chapter I had around 70 questions that I created on my own. Then I went to my workbook and did every 3rd question in the workbook for physics. I believe it says 1-62 on your syllabus so I just did 1/3 of it. I stupidly marked all the answers in my book the first time around so the night before, I just covered up all the answers with post sticks while doing something mundane like watching tv. That way I didn't focus on any particular answer.

I am happy to say that all the answers that I got wrong the first time around, I got them all right this time! Mind you, I haven't touched physics in quite a while cuz I sort of gave up for a few weeks after I realized I wasn't taking the MCAT when I wanted to (and more disappointingly, I realized I didn't learn a thing from lectures). I basically had to relearn everything. I waited till the next day to go over my answers and I was quizzing myself with my flashcards (the 70 questions) and I feel like I understand the material way more now. Oh, and before reading the chapter, I did two verbal passages from EK and then went over them the next day in great detail.

I guess that's my modified schedule. The problem is that, like for today, I did GC and finished the chapter and did my flashcards and now I am suppose to be doing question problems. Unfortunately the workbook combines problems from chapters 2&3 and so I don't know which problems to do. And since those two chapter combined have only 17 questions in total, doing a third of those (and cutting it in half since it is split between two chapters) would feel like I barely did anything. I tried doing EK problems but it doesn't coincide with what I read today. Sucks 😡

I wish someone came up with a better way to integrate the workbook into the SN2ed scheduling. The one posted online is hard to do with such different material.

Anyway, sorry to hijack your thread with my issues but hopefully you found what I wrote somewhat helpful.

No I didn't think you hijacked the thread at all. I am NOT one of those people who thinks that a prep course is a gaurenteed 30+, so I plan on my own studying being 95% of my prep, and the course just as a supplemental source of info. I modified it in the sense that it is spread over about 5 months since I'm taking classes this semester, I omitted the hat trick and EK 1001 Orgo, and like I said, I'm using TPR books. Like you, I'm doing every third discrete/passage from the workbook, which I didn't find too difficult to arrange.

Anyway, my question is still posed to anyone who wants to help, should I follow my course schedule?

So i was just looking at the schedule and i was a bit confused.

When it says: 1st 1/3 BR Physics Chapter #1 Passages
That means do passages 1,4,7,10 etc.. ??

When it says: Complete 2nd 1/3 passages BR Physics Chapter #1
That means do passages 2,5,8,11 etc.. ??

And When it says: Complete last 1/3 of BR Passages for ALL Chapter #1
That means do passages 3,6,9,12 etc..??

Sorry if this seems like stupid question but as you read more into the schedule it becomes a bit confusing

This was my understanding of it. That's how I plan on doing it.
