hey everyone, it's been a while since i last posted something on here. i hope everyone is doing well~

i've been waiting and waiting to hear back from schools.. i applied to 7 and received only 1 interview so far. it's been almost a month since the status of my apps said "received" & most of them still say "under review".. does this basically mean i've been rejected?? i read somewhere on here that if it's been ~2 weeks since they received my app, but i haven't gotten any interview invites, you've been most likely rejected.. some schools just take a while to send out rejections. i would like to know from your experiences if this is true. ugh.. i'm really nervous :/

This is not accurate at all. You are likely in the running still. The individual who stated this has been trolling for about a month now.

One invite means 50/50 chance, but usually invite means you'll be getting in if you don't butcher the interview section, correct?

No. Some schools interview 100+ and admit <30.

Hey... let me tell you whoever said "two weeks or pretty much nothing" is delusional. For example, my app was complete 9/21... I got two interviews on 9/29 and 10/7. BUT... the place I got an interview from on 10/7, I had gotten no sort of email that my app is under review or anything since 6/24. The first update I got was An interview lmao. So... no one would know what was happening in that process. It could be the school interviews relatively late (amongst a hundred other things) and therefore... but really its way too many factors and to boil it down to "they're not interested in you" is kind of absurd.

Nice! I also got one from UDM! That interview invite was given out pretty quick so that's why I was freaking out about the other schools

What did you send to the school to update your app?

Well the Dean of Student Affairs came to present at my undergrad and was saying how much they prefer students who show an interest in their program. It was in October and I still hadn't heard from them. I was about to go up to her and ask her right after the presentation, "Hey, I applied this cycle and haven't heard back... What gives!?" But knew that was a bad idea. All I did was call the next day and said "Hello, I wanted to check up on my application". The receptionist said I was still under review, and she would put a note in my file that I showed interest.

The next day, I received an interview! I think this is too strange of an occurrence for it to be coincidence.
