From Content Category 7B, is "social control" done via norms and sanctions only? Anything else contributing to social control?

Social control via social norms - this would include laws, mores, taboos and folkways.
 
There are many mechanisms of social control. You can think of social norms in two categories and this helps keep them clear. Formal Social Control and Informal Social Control. Formal are things like laws and sanctions that are enforced by an authoritative figure. Informal would be things like norms but also shame, ridicule, criticism, etc...
