This article is a bit of old news but relevant due to the fact that they are now on the shelves in China.

Basically, this is a toothbrush with a solar panel attached to its base that is comparable to that of a scientific calculator. This transmits electrons to the top of the toothbrush via a lead wire( not the element Pb). The electrons then react with the acids in your mouth to break down plaque and destroy bacteria. It also has the added benefit of relinquishing toothpaste from the procedure.

End of toothpaste anyone?(maybe)

Toothpaste is not needed to remove bacteria from teeth. All that is required is mechanical removal with floss and a toothbrush (ANY toothbrush). The purpose of toothpaste is that it delivers a dose of fluoride that can remineralize teeth. I bet the people who are using this toothbrush (and not flossing) are getting plenty of interproximal decay.
