Hello Everybody! I hope everyone had a great summer. I'm preparing for the 2007 application cycle and would like to know what the normal amount of time spent shadowing would be. I love shadowing my Doctor because I'm learning so much, but now that school has started it's really hard to find time. Also, when asking for a recommendation should I have everything ready (pre-stamped envelope, etc) when I ask or does that seem too presumptuous? Thanks.

When you ask for a recommendation, it would be best for the doctor to use the official letter head and a stamped return address or imprinted address of the doctor's office on the evelope.
The doctor should sign the evelope as well on the seal.

I have a question about the application. I already ordered all my transcripts and they are being sent to the schools I want. When do I send the recommendation letters? Do they have to have all the parts (transcripts, application, letters) in order to grant an interview? Or do they ask when they call for an interview to send them? Right now I only have 3 recommendations (podiatrist, physics TA, and spanish professor). Scholl said I would need one from a science professor (not TA), which I can do, but it won't be in for a few weeks. Will they still consider my application if its not "complete"?

Thanks!

At least at CPMS, I have seen applicants bring their letters to the interview.

Hi there,
Glad to hear your applying to Scholl! Scholl will consider your application even if all your recommendations are not complete. If you are accepted, all of your documentation (final transcipts, letters, test scores, etc.) need to be completed/submitted about two months before matriculation. If you have any other questions just let me know

I have a question regarding Temple and their process. They can interview before getting everything, correct? As of now I only have one medical LOR from a podiatrist. They say I have to have another one. Should this be from another podiatrist? And if not, can a nurse write the LOR? Any other suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!

As for the LOR requirement from health care professional, only one of the two required health care professional LOR needs to be from a Podiatrist. The other letter can be from any other health care professional. Two of my classmates did have a nurse write the LOR. However, these nurses were nursing managers that they had worked under. As for me, I had one DPM letter and one MD letter. Of course, you can always get 2 DPM LOR. I hope that this helps. Good luck with TUSPM.
