Hi all,

I'm currently waiting to hear back from 6 schools at this point. So far I've heard back from:

LECOM - Interview Invite (1/29)
University of Kentucky - Rejection
UCSF - Rejection

and I'm still waiting to hear back from:

NYU
Howard
Rutgers
Temple
VCU
Boston

I know VCU is still interviewing until February, but what is the situation with the other schools listed in terms of whether invites are still being extended? I am super pumped for my LECOM interview coming up but was just curious about the other schools.

A little about my ECs:
- Heavy involvement in pharmacological research. Two Summer Internships, three publications with one being my own study which I presented at the Experimental Biology Conference in San Diego last April.
- Four months of working at VCU Orthodontics (Roughly 600+ hours). Dental X-ray certified.
- 100 hours of shadowing
- 5 Letters of Rec including from Chair and Vice-Chair of Pharmacology and Toxicology at VCU

I know my GPA isn't great (in my sig below), but I thought with my decent DAT score (damn that 19 TS...) and accomplishments in research I would have heard back earlier by now. Just hoping to get some insight into how many seats might still be available at these schools. Thank you all for reading!

I think your gpa is on the border ( I am right there with you). Youre ECs are great, and the PAT is fine. If I you do well on your interview, you'll most likely be accepted. From what I have been heard from calling various dental schools, research is increasing in importance. Good luck

I am surprised you haven't heard back from more, but if I had to guess, it might be the borderline GPA. Other than that, your stats and EC's look pretty sweet.

I have around same GPA, higher DAT, not so impressive EC, applied to 19, invited to 3 interviews, 2 rejections w/o interviews, 1 deferred decision, and all other silent schools.

It is what it is. I was really hoping for a lot more pre-dec interviews, but only had 1 pre-dec and 2 post-dec. Still waiting for them to call me.
I will go wherever I get accepted.
