let's say you took all your exams to be a dentist in CA, but got into a specialty program in PA. once i'm done with my residency, do i become a specialist in PA or in CA? or can i choose?

if i plan to be a specialist, do i not take the clinical exam?

if i decide in my 4th year in CA that i want to be a dentist in PA, can i take northeastern clinical exam in CA?

thatnks so much!
i'm so confused!

Hello,

To answer your question, you need to contact the state board you plan to practice. There are rules and regulations regarding advertising yourself as a specialist in that particular state. I believe that you may need to take some practical tests to be licensed in some states but not to become a specialist. DP
