This could go either way for them now. Because we could either kill a wolf, or accidentally get a second villager, and then we're already 2 down.

But they would have for sure gotten a villager at night, and we would have lynched devyn, making the 2 down scenario much more likely.

Just like it is with every other game. Lose 2 villagers first night/day. We rarely get a wolf the first lynch.
