I'm a sophomore who just recently decided to go pre-dental. I just started doing the pre-reqs this year. I'm currently taking Bio 2. I'll be taking Gen Chem over the summer, Orgo during junior year, and Physics during senior year. I'm also taking a year off, so I'll be applying at the end of my senior year.

I've always wanted to study abroad at least once, but that would require me to split up some of these courses. I would probably have to do something roughly like this: Take Orgo 1 in fall / go abroad in spring / take Orgo 2 over the summer.

Would it be a problem to have a semester break between sequential courses like Orgo and Physics? I just don't want to be rusty and fail the second half because I took a break in the middle. Has anyone done something like this? Should I avoid this situation?

If your school teaches orgo I/II and physics I/II like mine, you shouldn't have too many problems splitting them up. Different concepts in each class that weren't overly dependant on the previous half of the course.

It really should be a big deal, I have split up a few course and taken them like that. It actually helped me get ready for the DAT a bit because I had to retain info longer.
