How has anyone here tried to share what Osteopathy has to offer students and future doctors at school while taking pre-meds and at MCAT prep classes or anywhere else?
Generally I find that people respect the choice but unfortunately, many are still ignorant, accepting what they "hear" as the only truth and still glossed by the M.D. better-than-DO perception.
As I try to explain, most do listen carefully as I speak of the benefits of OMM, the health hindrances of somatic dysfunction, the greater patient contact training, and the ENTIRE context of OMM and OPP, not just as having that "one extra course."
What do you guys come across and again, how do you personally share the merits of Osteopathy in your corner of the world?
