Hello everyone, I am new to the forums. I am trying to to get into PT school at the moment, and have an interview at the University of St.Augustine on the 21st for entrance in the DPT program there.

I was just wondering if anyone has had an interview there, and if they could give me some insight into what to expect. I have been practicing answering typical questions like, "Why do you want to be a Physical Therapist" and "What are your strong and weak points" etc. I just wanted to see if I could get more input on possible questions and just basic interview tips in general.

It would be great if anyone who has actually been interviews or accepted there could contribute, but any and all tips and suggestions are welcome.

I am pretty nervous about the whole thing, and want to do as well as possible.

I submitted my app in the first of October for the May class, then received an invitation to the interview around the 15th or so.

Also, a few more questions...

-I am going to get fitted for a suit this week, would you guys suggest getting one? Or should I just wear a tie and nice clothes? I have heard different ideas, and my brother who is a graduate student told me to go with a nice grey or blue suit.

- I have shoulder length hair right now and have been planning to cut it for the interview, I just assume that the clean cut look is better than longer hair, what do you guys think?

Sorry, I don't have any St. Augustine interview advice. I know that some schools ask behavioral questions though, like 'what would you do in a certain situation' or 'how have you shown leadership.' They may ask what you think about a current PT topic (direct access, etc). Another good one they might ask is if you have any questions about their school/program. Always have a question to ask them! It shows you took the time to look up something about the school and want to know more about it. Good luck!

For all of you whom applied to St. Augustine and interviewed there..

Any advice for the interview?

How were the students dressed? Suits? (I cannot picture a suit in the Florida weather... so I'm just curious!)
