During PCO's financial aid presentation, We were told that subsidized stafford loans were $8,500 max/year and unsubsidized staffords were $32,000 max/year, totaling $40,500/yr. However, info. I read online in prep. for filing the FAFSA said (for graduate students) subsidized were $8,500 max/yr, but unsubsidized were only $12,000 max/yr. for a total of $20,500/yr. What am I missing? Which one is accurate?

Sorry about the typo in the title - tried to edit but couldn't

I think for Medical Student it is 32,000/year for unsubsidized and any other graduate student it is 12,000/yr for unsubsidized. So, if we are consider medical student than PCO's financial aid is correct. I am not so sure though.

I sure as hell hope $12,000.00/year isn't the limit; that's not even half of just tuition for most of the colleges of optometry.

I'll also confirm 32k. Thank goodness.

Right, but I was wondering if the interest rate is fixed at 6.8% for optometry students.
