start application pending an acceptance letter to dental school?

Recruiter told me that I can't start the process until I have an acceptance letter to dental school. Is this true because for some reason I thought you could start just with your DAT scores and GPA if you are competitive. I'm looking to start dental school fall of 2013.

unless you don't need a waiver of any kind, and is in good physical shape, go find a different recruiter. I applied after I got the acceptance (Dec 1st), waited for a waiver to clear, 6 months later I'm on the waiting list, and my recruiter is going to separate before I ever come off that wait list.

That's actually incorrect. I was able to start my HPSP application well before my first acceptance letter. As long as you have good DAT and GPA stats, then the recruiter should be able to begin the process for you, so that you can hopefully have the whole process completed, pending an acceptance of course.

Your recruiter is wrong. You should be well into the application process when you receive a dental school acceptance. Perhaps he/she has misunderstood something about your situation?

If your recruiter persists in this, definitely contact someone else.
