Hi everyone
I will be a freshman at a Top 10 University next fall, and I was wondering how I should spend my summer. Is it too early to start studying for the USMLE step exams? I already ordered a few study books off of amazon. Just want some input from you guys.

:owle: I strongly recommend reading for Step 3 first. After taking Step 3, plan on taking Step 2 CS, Step 2 CK and finally Step 1. :owle:

An undergrad freshman? Ya it's too early. That's like a caterpee studying how to fly and learning how to cast whirlwind before it's even evolved to a metapod.

Go have fun, meet some knew people, get involved in a fun way in your community. Enjoy the summer!!

I started studying for my USMLE in my sophomore year of high school..... I'm a sophomore in college now, and I'm going to take the tests in May. There is a new program at my university (its connected with the medical school in my state) that if you do well on the tests, you can actually go ahead and get your license after successful completion of your senior year. It's nice that people will be able to get their MD without having 250,000 dollars in loans, and the program will definitely help the shortage of physicians in my area. Besides that, when you think about it, medical school is more or less a waste of time, since no one really remembers anything they learn. The program opens the doors to a real-world type of approach, which is definitely needed in order to succeed in the medical field. I don't want to spend four years studying things I won't actually ever use.

Wish me luck! I'm so nervous.... :scared:

 1/10 for lols

I've been scoring 270+ on my USMLE Step 1 practice exams, a 275 of the real thing, and ended up scrambling for prelim. 😱

You had better start studying now. In fact, use up a gap year.

LOL this is ridiculous.

I'm having a hard time with all of these joke posts. There are so many of them, and I have seen people post things as ridiculous before.

Where is this program? Im trying to Google search it but nothing is coming up! It sounds like a great idea though.
Anyways, my review books have come in the mail.... I dont understand most of this stuff but I guess its OK since I haven't had any undergrad classes yet
