I'm considering taking a 2000 level histology course at a state college that my university does not offer. The state college was previously a community college, but they changed their name to include "state college." Luckily I don't have to take histology, and can take another science course at my university, but I will hopefully take histology (if I get accepted to dschool) so I wanted to get a little bit of background beforehand. However, I don't want to take a science course at state college if it is still considered on the level of cc. Any suggestions/opinions? Thank you in advance!

if its a 4-year university NOW, then go ahead and take it.

I wouldn't think there would be a problem. Most all dental schools require courses from a "four year institution or university". If anyone knows anything otherwise though I would be interested to know seeing how I am getting my BS from a state college.
