I was wondering, does it make a big difference if you attend a state school or a city school. What I mean is would it matter if you went to a Cal State or a UC? Does it give you an edge when applying to med school?

I believe that you are much better off to go to a UC. For one, they focus more on graduate education and research, and thus have afaculty that's more geared toward preparing students for graduate/professional schools. For another, the faculty is more likely to be involved in medical research, as many Uc's have med schools, but no CSU's do. And finally, reputation does matter, and I can honestly say that I got a good research position where the interview was basically, "I've worked with students from your school before, I know you can do the work, so get paperwork processed and you can start when it clears." Aim for UC.

Thanks! This really helps me out.🙂
