Hey guys I have a question about state schools:

I am from Illinois and I may very well apply to all 7 of Illinois' in state medical schools. I have heard that many of these schools reserve spots for in state residents, even private schools like Northwestern have at least a few spots for Illinois students. Is this a smart idea, or should I also apply to some out of state schools?

I say the more schools you apply to, the better. It's best not to take any chances and applying to only 7 schools may be risky.

Depends on your stats mostly, assuming you interview relatively well. To be safe, I would apply to some more schools if your stats are "average" for your state schools.
