Hi all,

Took 1 semester undergrad pre-calc
2 semester calculus (I/II) completed

Taking MCAT this September, not 2015 MCAT.

Do I need to take a semester of statistics?

Do you NEED to? Prob not, if a school wants it, I think you can just take it before matriculating.
However, it is a very useful skills to have, in life in general.
I agree with Catalystik, way more useful than Calc.

In terms of requirements, check the MSAR. In terms of importance, I can honestly say I have never used calculus in my career. I use statistics every day.

Definitely take statistics. Throw it into your schedule somewhere, it's an easy A and should provide you with a good basis for interpreting the ever so common bell curve.

Doing summer internship research right now and I've never even thought about calculus until today.
Have been doing stat the entire time other than gen chem problems.

Schools are beginning to require it and most; 90% of science majors require it anyway.

I think stats and biostats are very useful having worked with physicians who do research. Definitely much more useful than calc

Not a requirement at most places but it is required for one to be a good scientist, which every physician should be. You'll most likely take it at some point, but now is good as ever.
