Status checks POST interview?

I was curious as to the general consensus about calling to check the status of one's application AFTER the interview if you haven't gotten notification?

I had planned to just patiently wait, but I'm more curious than I thought - although I figure that if it were good news, I would have been called [given that others have already been called].

Anyways, just wondering if this is (a) taboo - don't call unless you have something important to say/add (b) eh - asi asi - some people do, some people don't or (c) What?! You haven't called to check your status? Everyone calls to check their status!

I emailed right away when I got home to send a thank you letter. I was told I'd be hearing back within a week or two. Heard back ten days later because I emailed again my interviewer and got accepted 🙂

Id say a week is generally a good time frame to call and or email

Well, I mean - I sent thank yous (opted for snail mail notes, old school I guess) to my interviewers. I wouldn't think to contact them again for acceptance information? I would think to contact the admissions office?

Also, don't some schools take a while to process apps/have adcom mtgs? I had only thought to call the schools that have started accepting people (which is only 2 of the ones I've interviewed at to date)..... 🙁

swtiepie711, have you sent a letter of intent to these schools?

I'm trying to send a LOI 2-3 weeks after the interview, and call after a month.

This waiting is killing me too, but calling after one week seems too soon to me.
At least have a good excuse for calling 😉 .
