Hi,

I will be taking the Step 2 live lecture in Manhattan, NY. I will be taking a subway departing from Manhattan to Brooklyn (75th and 2nd Av) LATE NIGHT at 11 pm. I am concerned about my SAFETY. Can anyone living in these areas tell me how safe would my trip be?

Thanks a lot.

Where on earth is 75th and 2nd? What subway stop is that?

They give tests at 11 PM? sheesh! What time are you supposed to be taking the subway back?

That's what I thought, but . . . nevermind.

I agree that pretty much any adult will be fine riding around Bay ridge in the middle of the night.

When I first moved to NYC I asked a co-worker who is a native (and had a wild youth) about subway safety and she told me "I've ridden through every borough at all hours under the influence of all kinds of substances and in various states of undress and never had a problem." I wouldn't go THAT far, but the subway is definitley safer than most people think. Try to look bored and vigilant at the same time, and no one will bother you.
