Do we have to release step 2??

Word has it that residencies are deciding on their match lists by the end of next week. With this in mind, is ok to have not released scores yet??

Thanks!

PS: My step I = 232..........step II = 222 (thats why I've chosen to hold my scores)

Well, on one hand they will see you did worse. On the other, they will see you passed and will have more security when ranking. Who knows. Different programs will probably interpret it differently.

So by that logic wouldn't holding my score still be in my best interest??? Then I'd have more "security"...
Thanks

What specialty are you applying for? It depends on its below the average or average.

Internal medicine.

But regardless, doesn't a 232 alone look much better than the 232/222 combo?

I'm not a program director, but I doubt it would make a difference whatever you do at this stage of the game.

sorry to hijack but i got my CK scores in late january, re-released the scores but some programs (esp my #1) haven't uploaded the scores as of today. I really want them to consider the score, since it was a huge improvement. Did email the program coordinator at my #1 but no response. do some programs not even look at CK at all??

Nobody will care. That's like 4 more questions you got wrong on Step 2 than Step 1. A 20+ drop would be potentially concerning and 10 points might be an issue if your Step 1 score was <200. You passed, you did fine, release it and forget about it.

Much bigger risk for a program to look at two similar applicants and say, "Well, at least we know that this guy passed his Step 2. We don't know about that guy...."
