Buddy of mine got a lower step 2 than step 1 by 3 points. Both in upper 240's though. Should she be worried? She has an excellent app, AOA, research, but is concerned that since she didnt take step 2 seriously it will be a read flag. Thoughts?

Your "buddy" should not be worried in the least. Those are statistically identical scores.

It really is my "buddy" she just doesnt know anything about these forums. I got 243 then 257, so I'm not worried.

Phew!

General question: assuming you do well on step 1, how important is it to do well on step 2?

I used to listen to LoveLine pretty religiously. For those who are unfamiliar, it's a radio show where semi-******ed teenagers would call in with questions primarily regarding sex or drugs. One night this dude calls in and says that his girlfriend wants to have sex, like, all the time. And his girlfriend is really hot so he has a hard time saying no. But, like, seriously! All the time! Sex! Several times a day! And the host, Adam Carolla, asks, "Bill, what exactly is the problem here?" And Bill has a hard time formulating a complaint out of this other than reiterating what he has already said. So Adam Carolla says, "Ok everybody, that was Bill just letting the world know that he has a hot girlfriend that he bangs all the time. Congratulations Bill, thanks for calling!"

It is important to stay in the same range. If you get 260 on step 1 and drop to a 240 on step 2, nobody'd really going to care that much. If you get a 225 on step 1 and drop to a 205 on step 2, folks are gonna notice.

People who get worked up over a change of 5 points or less are getting freaked over what statistically amounts to a rounding error.

Wow you wasted alot of time writing that.

I type pretty fast, so not really. You'd think I'd be a slow typer. Most people who only get 262 on Step 1, 295 on Step 2, and 380 on Step 3 are slow typers. But not me. I buck the trend.

is a 295 even possible?
