You must first contact your state board in NJ if you wish to work in NJ.
Then, you need to take the NBDE Part 1.
You will need to reapply to dental school as an advanced standing student.
You will skip the first year or two and be required to finish the remaining years of dental school before you can take the NBDE Part 2 to be board certified to work here as a general practitioner.

You'll need to contact that your state board for specifics since requirements vary from state to state.Thank you very much for the immediate and understandable information.
So, when I complete the steps mentioned above will I had the DMD degree?
While choosing the dental school is it important that it is accredited by CODA or not?
When I complete my licensure in NJ or NY (CODA accredited) will I be able to work in another state?
Thank you again.

Regardless of difference in dental state laws, universal rule is you need to pass nbde part 1 and part 2. First step is to get your ece evaluation done then apply for your nbde part 1. If you pass it then go part 2 ..then take toefl. These are three basic steps. You will have to apply for dds 2 year program via caapid to get licence as a dentist.Thank you than.. Your first reply was helpful enough.
I think you should apply to all the Schools. Only NYU and UB have advanced standing programs in the state of New York. You should definitely look into other states too. More Schools = better chances. No one school has a faster process. You need a lot of patience and need to assure yourself that the process does indeed take time. So keep yourself motivated always. Nonetheless, you have to have NBDE part 1 and 2 and TOEFL before you can apply to any dental school. So that should be the 1st step.

People always say to contact the state board first but I had the same experience... every time I contacted them was a disappointment and I still don't have the answers I wanted from them... I contacted Maryland board btw.I went to NJ board of dentistry a few days ago.. they only said that go and talk with rutgers or other universities. It was really difficult to reach a person and information at the dental board.... I am really disappointed
