Hey guys,
Just wondering if anyone knows of any programs that require these test results before the ROL is submitted on 2/22. Emory seems to require STEP II CK and I have heard Brgiham has a similar policy, although I can't find it on the website. Does anyone have any concrete information about this for any program? Do I need to schedule them both before mid-January in order to get the results there ontime? Have you all taken them already?
Thanks,
FTT

As a corollary to this question, I was just reading through the information sent to me from Dartmouth, and squeezed in, totally inconspicuously, among all the other fine print, it says that in order to qualify for a New Hampshire state medical license, you must have taken Step 2 CS and CK by January 1 of the year in which you start internship. 😡 I am not planning to take CS until February, so I called the program coordinator to ask about this, and she is checking on it for me. Does anyone know of other programs that have this requirement? Why don't they make this information more available to us? I'm annoyed that if I hadn't carefully read all the info, I might have traveled all the way across the country to interview at a program that I could potentially love, just to discover that I couldn't get a medical license to practice in that state. 😡

Hi Shambhala, are you SURE it said to have TAKEN it by that date? thats RIDICULOUS!!! You won't even start residency until July, well in time for them to have the results back! Please keep me posted on this becaue that is ABSURD to require the CS by Jan 1st for state licensing - I'm checking all my programs now. Someone is gunna get hurt if thats true for my licensing requirements too :meanie:

the original post has an excellent question about programs requiring step 2 early... any info on this topic would be much appreciated
